Service Description

Piped Dreams Bakery ‘Challah-bration’ group. These groups are designed to bring people together to learn and practice the art of challah baking. This is more than just a baking demo or lesson, this is a three hour session where you will gather your beloved friends and I'll be guiding you through a session inspired by a specific celebration that you want to celebrate and embody. It may be a birthday, an engagement, a baby shower, a bat mitzvah or it may just be a way of getting your friends and family together to do something fun, tasty and to elevate yourselves spiritually. Okay, that last bit sounded a bit hippyish, but the truth is, every person who has taken part in one of these events has fed back a feeling of warmth, love, wellbeing and wholesome energy and growth with their female friends. Because the truth is, challah is not just bread – it is WAY MORE than just bread. This is a historic ritual that connects us to all the women who have gone before and continues the chain ahead of us into the future. THE SESSION 3 hour session at your home (I will arrive 45-60 mins beforehand to set up.) Location dependent. Once guests have arrived I will lead a discussion based on baking with intention, then we will prep the dough. While the dough is proving, your guests will eat a light meal and then I will guide everybody through a moving session of discussion and sharing which is always the highlight of the event. And finally, the pretty plaiting of the challahs. The cost is £30 per person for the 3 hours and you get to go home with two challahs each (and a full heart). (Minimum £240) FAQ How many people? 8-12 people. Numbers to be confirmed no later than four days before event. If you want more than 12 people then get in touch and we can discuss. I have run batmitzvah, barmitzvah, corporate and charity challah bakes for 25+ people What do I need? I will provide all of the challah baking ingredients, bowls, trays, aprons etc. You will need to have a kitchen island or table big enough for your guests to be able to gather around and knead dough together. Do I need to make a meal? Yes, you will need to provide either a light breakfast/ brunch or supper as this is when the dough rises. It is part of the 3 hour session.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel then you can give your space to a friend or family member but I'm afraid we don't offer refunds as there are only a small amount of spaces for each class.
